We talked to Emmy and Peabody award winning stand-up comedian, writer and podcaster, Paul Mecurio, of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert!
Paul talks with Jason about his remarkable career in comedy that started as he snuck out of his job as a Wall Street lawyer/banker to do stand up and how a chance meeting with Jay Leno eventually led to his working for The Tonight Show before his career took off. Paul went on to landing him a job at The Daily Show and has appeared on The Late Show, CBS Sunday Morning, ESPN, the Montreal Just for Laughs festival, and his own Comedy Central Special. Paul chats about his stand up, writing political humor, and he explains how he got Paul McCartney to appear on his podcast, 2 Chairs and a Microphone. Paul also discusses warming up the audience for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
This entertaining interview is also informative and insightful with something for everyone. From writers to stand ups to people who want to branch out and follow a career path they can't seem to get away from, you'll learn plenty.
